The Midland Region of British Railways I regret to say, was not my favourite railway, anyone visiting the previous pages will by now realise what my favourite was, but I did venture out on the LMR now & again. These are my impressions, some are my efforts and are marked so, some are donated by the Friedman Collection and are also marked. All images are copyright and copying is forbidden, glossy prints are available, details are on the Contact page.

The first section of photographs are my efforts and all date after nationalisation in 1948, I do remember the LMS but I had no camera then, but they would have been a poor effort, my first camera was a Box Brownie. The images from the 1920s and 1930s are not mine (I am not that old) but are donated by the Friedman Collection for which I am extremely grateful.

So for those avid admirers of the LMS, this is for you. If you can help with any details i.e. train, location etc, please do not hesitate to contact us. We welcome any comments you wish to make (except rude ones).

For now take the time capsule back at least fifty years & enjoy.
