New Barnet – Hadley Wood

This was without doubt my favourite area and
almost every Saturday I would meet up with many friends there, if you
frequented this section during the 1950s we would almost
certainly have met. In the early fifties my camera was a folding
Brownie with a top aperture speed of 1x100
sec, and trying to capture any loco exceeding 30mph was a lost cause, things did improve, from 1953 when I
obtained a Russian copy of a Zeis Ikon, this opened a whole new
world for me. These are my efforts to capture the
atmosphere in those heady days.
